The last people died behind the walls and in desperation they left their hiding places. Outside, they were easy prey for the Anumi, who brutally and ruthlessly ended the last great hunt for what was left of humanity.
The Nucleus had buried its arms deep in the body of the earth and was consuming all available biological material, including the remains of defeated humans. Plant and animal life was exploited as well as corpses and life on earth dried up.
While the process was going on, the Anumi were already sending probes into the galaxy to find new usable planets, because this planet would only be able to serve as a food source for a short time, at least in the Anumi's sense of time. With their superior technology, they soon discovered new worlds that could serve them as food and so they prepared the first landing troops, which would soon take possession of the next inhabited planet as the first murderous vanguard.
When the earth was used up, they dismantled the nucleus and set out again for the stars. What remained was a planet formerly bursting with life, which now turned its rounds as a lifeless boulder around the warmth-giving mother star.
But life always finds a way and who knows what will happen on earth.
Only time will tell....
